I actually got this mattress for the guest room - we got a new pillow top mattress last year. But I slept on this one for almost a week so I could do an informed review.
1. Mattress was delivered right to the door by an independent shipper and delivery guy actually brought into house for me. Great service because box is heavy.
2. The BOX - I didn't measure the box and I should have before I got rid of it. Imagine taking a queen size mattress and folding it in half and then in half again. That was about the size of the box, maybe even smaller. I thought 'there is no way a good quality mattress is coming out of that box after being stuffed into it.' I was wrong.
WARNING: Be very careful opening the box. That mattress is compressed in there. Once the box is off, the mattress is vacumn packed in a plastic wrapping and especially be careful when getting that wtrap off not to cut the mattress.

The Sleep Innovations Allure Mattress is FIRM. If you are not a fan of firm mattresses, then you will most likely not appreciate this mattress. I happen to be a BIG fan of firm mattresses, so for me, this mattress is FANTASTIC! I played a lot of sports when I was younger and still have the typical sore knees, back, and joints occasionally after trying to relive some of the old days. I've found that mattresses with firm support help relieve the sore areas. My wife also appreciates a firm sleeping surface, so this mattress worked perfectly for both of us. I have actually noticed LESS tossing and turning at night, not to mention a lot less waking up, too. I actually feel a lot more refreshed after a night's sleep on this mattress, as well. I must admit I thought these foam mattresses were more gimmicky than effective. I've totally changed my mind in that regard.

I have now slept on this mattress for three nights. It has been an interesting experience. The mattress was delivered in a relatively small box. When you open the hermetically sealed wrapper (be careful not to cut the mattress!), the foam expands like some kind of sci-fi creature that ate Cleveland. It takes a few days to completely decompress, but it's 90% there within a couple of hours, and you can sleep on it right away the first night. One unpleasant note up front - the mattress emits some strange fumes in the beginning. The product information says this is normal and it dissipates in a few days. The smell is sort of like day-old paint. It takes a couple of days to go away completely. It didn't interfere with my sleep, but if you're someone who is sensitive to fumes, you might want to let the mattress air out in another room before sleeping on it.
